(Newsroom America) -- Police say 29 Pike River miners trapped underground in New Zealand are believed to be dead after a second massive explosion in the mine.
Experts said it was likely the men became unconscious due to carbon monoxide poisoning and would not have suffered.
Families were told at a meeting with police and company officials a short time ago that there was "no chance" of survival after the second explosion today.
