(Newsroom America) -- President Obama on Monday will submit his formal jobs plan he discussed last week in a prime time nationally televised speech to Congress, and will urge quick passage by lawmakers, White House officials said.

The $447 billion package will be submitted Monday evening, said officials. Obama will be joined by veterans, union workers, teachers and others who are expected to benefit from the plan in the Rose Garden.

The plan is filled largely with targeted tax cuts to help small businesses and others, but also contains new spending on infrastructure and jobs training, the White House said.

The president plans to push to increase $1.5 trillion in budget cuts currently being considered by a specially formed bipartisan committee made up of lawmakers from both chambers of Congress.

Obama has already begun stumping for his proposal. During a trip Friday, he said his plan was vital to get trim the nation's unemployment and boost the economy.

The Democratic National Committee plans to begin running ads Monday in key battleground states urging voters to push lawmakers to approve the plan in key battleground states, including Ohio, home to House Speaker John Boehner, ABC News reported.
