(Newsroom America) -- Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has announced the search for the black box of missing Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 has been narrowed to just a few kilometers.
Mr Abbott told a press conference in China that authorities were "very confident" that the signals search craft are detecting are from the black box on MH370.
"We have very much narrowed down the search area and we are very confident that the signals that we are detecting are from the black box on MH370," said Mr Abbot.
He said the signal from the black box is starting to fade and searchers were hoping to get as much information as possible before the signal finally expires.
"We are confident that we know the position of the black box flight recorder to within some kilometers, but confidence in the approximate position of the black box is not the same as recovering wreckage from almost 4 kilometres beneath the sea or finally determining all that happened on that flight," he said.
