Notes from TNT’s Coverage of the NBA – MLK Day, Monday, January 16, 2012
TNT NBA Tip-off presented by AutoTrader.com live from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles
Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith

Smith on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: “He was the first man with common sense. He taught all of us what common sense was all about.”

O’Neal on why Los Angeles Clippers Blake Griffin is the best forward in the league ahead of Minnesota Timberwolves’ Kevin Love: “(Griffin is) a very exciting player and he reminds me of a young Charles Barkley or Karl Malone. The kid can do it all. Kevin Love is a good player on a bad team. If your team isn’t winning…it doesn’t count.”

Barkley on why Kevin Love is a better power forward than Blake Griffin: “Blake (Griffin) isn’t finished right now. I think he struggles in the half-court set and he’s not a great rebounder. Kevin Love is a great rebounder and a better three-point shooter. His game is more polished than Blake’s. The best power forward in the game today is Mr. Kevin Love.”
